Bequests

Saint Luke’s Wallsend is grateful for the many bequests, large and small, that it has received over many years, and continues to receive, from parishioners and friends. These gifts have endowed the parish with beautiful windows, liturgical furnishings, our electronic sign on Thomas Street, and ongoing financial support.

If you wish to remember us in your will, please be aware that bequests of money, property, and investments should be specifically stated as being intended for the parish of Saint Luke’s Wallsend. In order to be assured that your bequest will be retained by the parish, please employ the following wording:

 

Wording of Bequests for Inclusion in a Will

The appropriate wording to be used when someone wishes to remember the work of God when making their Wills is as follows:

(i) I bequeath to the Trustees of Church Property for the Diocese of Newcastle in the state of New South Wales the sum of …… to be applied for the benefit of Saint Luke’s Wallsend in such manner as the said Trustees may approve.

(ii) I give, devise and bequeath all that piece or parcel of land being …… to the Trustees of Church Property for the Diocese of Newcastle in the state of New South Wales for the general purpose of Saint Luke’s Wallsend.

(iii) I bequeath to the Trustees of Church Property for the Diocese of Newcastle in the state of New South Wales the sum of …… in trust to apply the income arising from the investment of such sum for the benefit of Saint Luke’s Wallsend.
