Creative Times

Creative Times is a therapeutic after-school program for young people (aged 7-12 years) and their families, who may be experiencing tough times. The program offers young people a safe, predictable and fun place to practice new and more helpful ways of doing things to work towards a personal goal such as: getting along better with others, overcoming tricky emotions or building self-confidence. Through a whole family approach, the program also provides a platform for these new ways of doing things to be introduced in other important environments in the young peoples’ lives, such as at home or school.

The Creative Times program has operated in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie communities for over 30 years and has recently expanded to the Wallsend area, operating out of Saint Luke’s Anglican Church on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the school term. The program is free of charge and families, school staff and other services and professionals are welcome to refer to the program.
